All my life, the news out of Africa has been grim and depressing. And then I read something Stephen Lewis wrote. He said:
"Over the last six years, the Stephen Lewis Foundation has watched the steady growth and increasing reach of the grassroots organizations we fund in 15 countries. These groups have pioneered some of the most inventive approaches to the AIDS crisis we have ever seen. In project after project, we have seen lives and hope restored. Now, we’re on the precipice of creating major change across the continent. We want to turn the tide."
His words inspired me and I have taken up his call to action to support grassroots organizations in Africa. I want to raise money so that grandmothers, children, and women – who are working so hard to change the course of the pandemic in their communities – will receive the support they need.
